My friends,

I'm departing from my usual format for this newsletter. Grand Master is aware that we have many Muslim members who are unable to make it to class at this time because of their observance of Ramadan, requiring them to abstain from food and beverages between sunrise and sunset. Many of these members are very close to having their required training days in, but being unable to train, would have to miss the September gup test.

In order to make their training and testing possible, Grand Master will be holding additional training sessions later in the evenings of every Tuesday and Thursday, starting this Thursday, August 26th, and continuing up through Thursday, September 9th. These will follow the regular classes and will be from 9:30pm to 11:00pm. This will give our Muslim members time to eat dinner (I checked, sunset tonight was at 8:20pm) and still get to the dojang for class.

These classes will also be open to ANY other members who want to train and are trying to get their required days in. And if you come for the early class as well as the later class, you'll get credit for 2 days!!! Also, the 9:30 Thursday classes, unlike the earlier Thursday class, will be open to ALL ranks, not just red belts and black belts.

We realize that for our youngest members, the late hour may not be an option, but we wanted to give this a try and see how many of you might be interested. If you think you might want to come, please respond to this letter as soon as possible and let me know. And if you know some of our newest members who might not be on my distribution list, please pass the word to them about the later classes.

New Info on Musa Quest 3 Tournament!

The flyer for the Musa Quest 3 Tournament is now available! Click the link below or the flyer image to the left to download the flyer. The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, October 23, 2010.  24 fighters, 23 fights each, one tournament champion.  New contact techniques allowed for this year's tournament:  backhand and straight punches to the head area. We're looking for pictures from the Dan Promotional Testing and from the Mu Sa Tournament from this year!

If you have any pictures from the Dan Promotional Testing from any of the testing locations (main dojang, Florida, Tennessee) or from the Mu Sa Tournament and would like them on our website, please send them to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
